Cynthia Erivo To Play Tupac Shakur's Mother In Snoop Dogg Biopic

Cynthia Erivo has been cast to play Afeni Shakur, the mother of Tupac Shakur, in the upcoming Snoop Dogg biopic. Afeni was a central figure in Tupac's life and a prominent activist in her own right, and her relationship with her son shaped much of his music and worldview. The casting puts an acclaimed stage and screen performer in one of the film's most important supporting roles, as the biopic traces Snoop Dogg's rise from Long Beach to global stardom. The project adds to a growing wave of hip-hop biopics bringing rap history to the big screen. Source: Variety, November 4, 2026.
