Brandon Aiyuk meets with 49ers, says he's healthy, 'looking to get reinstated'

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk met with the team at its Santa Clara offices on Friday, accompanied by his agent Drew Rosenhaus, in his first public comments since tearing the ACL, MCL and meniscus in his right knee in October 2024. Aiyuk said he is "back to 100%" after a long rehab and is "looking to get reinstated to the National Football League," having filed for reinstatement in late October after the 49ers voided about $27 million in contract guarantees and placed him on the reserve/left-team list. Reinstatement is held up in part because the league told Aiyuk he must repay about $13 million in previously paid bonus money, and while release remains the most likely outcome, a trade before Tuesday's deadline or a return to the roster are also possible. Head coach Kyle Shanahan, who did not attend the meeting, said he considers the saga over for the team.
